What is the main difference between Prismatic and Nango?

Accepted Answer

Nango is a set of integration primitives, and Prismatic is an integration platform. Nango gives your developers managed authentication and a place to run TypeScript functions; then your product orchestrates everything else. Prismatic gives you productized integrations you deploy to every customer with separate configs and credentials, a white-labeled marketplace and workflow builder for your customers, and multi-tenant infrastructure. The difference is how much your team still has to build around the tool.

Can our customers browse integrations or build their own workflows in Nango?

Accepted Answer

No. Nango has no marketplace and no workflow builder. Your customers authorize a connection through Nango's connect screen, and product orchestrates everything from there. Prismatic ships a white-labeled embedded marketplace where customers discover and activate integrations, plus an embedded workflow builder with an AI copilot where they build workflows your team never had to write.

Nango supports 1,000+ APIs. How does that compare to Prismatic's connectors?

Accepted Answer

Most of those only provide authentication, and the function templates that move data cover a smaller set. Prismatic's library has 190+ pre-built connectors, each with triggers and actions, all public on GitHub to fork and extend. Our SDK plus Prismatic Skills lets you build new connectors for any API. The question is less about how many logos there are in the connector catalog and more about how much work each one still takes.

How does Nango's data sync compare to Prismatic?

Nango’s sync functions are built for one job: keeping a copy of a customer’s records current, with checkpoints and incremental change detection. Prismatic treats sync as one part of an integration. Large data syncs run with batched execution, polling and event triggers, and per-customer monitoring, alongside the transformations, business logic, and workflows around them. If the sync is one part of an integration your customers configure and run, Prismatic covers the whole thing.

How does Prismatic's AI compare to Nango's agent sessions and MCP tooling?

Both platforms expose integrations to AI agents, but to different agents. Nango's agent sessions give an agent scoped access to Nango's action catalog and connected MCP servers, with allow and deny lists, per-call logging, and integration functions generated from plain-language descriptions for your developers. Prismatic enables AI for the three main roles in a software business: Prismatic Skills for the coding agents your developers build with, an AI Copilot inside your product so your customers build workflows in plain language, and the MCP flow server to expose your integrations and workflows to AI agents as deterministic tools with per-tenant authentication. If your customers and their agents need AI, that distinction matters.

Is Nango multi-tenant?

Yes, at the connection level. Each customer’s credentials are isolated and billed as a connection, agent sessions are scoped to a tenant’s connections, and your product decides what runs for whom. Your team provisions a customer, gives them their own configuration, and separates one customer's execution history from another's. Prismatic, however, is multi-tenant at the core: one integration deploys to thousands of customers, each with its own configuration, credentials, and execution history, and no customer can see another's instance or data.

Nango is open source with usage-based pricing. Why pay for Prismatic?

Because primitives are only part of the cost of an integration product. On Nango, your engineers build and maintain the platform around them: provisioning each customer, storing configurations, versioning each integration, keeping run history, turning failure webhooks into alerts, and writing functions for the APIs where Nango provides auth only. Prismatic includes that layer, so your customers can find, enable, and run the integrations your team builds – without an engineer in the loop. Teams that outgrow an auth-and-functions setup often find that engineering time, not the subscription, is the higher cost.
